Berkley has been with the University of Kansas for over ten years, currently serving as the Supervisor for LAN Support Services. As a student there, he earned bachelor's degrees in Aerospace Engineering and Computer Science. He also holds a CNE.

As an instructor, Berkley has taught classes ranging from "Introduction to the Personal Computer" to "Beginning Network Administration." Satisfying another creative urge, he also is a software developer for the Palm OS, primarily developing applications to assist him in his hobbies.

As a NetWare, Windows and Unix systems administrator, he primarily works on Ethernet networks. An 8-year veteran as a messaging administrator, Berkley has an especially broad knowledge of GroupWise, having been a beta-tester for most of that time.
