/ Network World Test Alliance: Travis Berkley's labLab overview: Our primary testing lab examines messaging systems, and other content delivery and filtering software. We focus on the applications and services, rather than the networking infrastructure. Equipment in the lab: Our equipment runs on a 100 Mbps Ethernet backbone. The primary servers used for testing are a Compaq DL-380, and a Dell PowerEdge 2400. Several brands of workstations are used at the desktop. Software in the lab: Testing is usually completed on Windows 2000 Advanced Server or NetWare. For the desktop, we primarily use Windows 2000 Pro or Windows XP Pro, but other platforms are available, including Macintosh. Expanded lab capabilities: If the testing necessitates, we can extend our network onto the University of Kansas backbone, which is an Internet2 site. Network Connections: KU is subscribed to 34 Mbps to the commercial Internet, as well as a full member of Internet 2.
