Lab overview: ExtremeLabs has two facilities, a test site in Bloomington, Indiana, and a NOC housed at nFrame in Carmel Indiana. Henderson and his organization perform large organization product test, investor due diligence, and systems emulation for software QA testing.

Equipment in the lab:

Servers

240+ cores in 16, 8, and 4 core servers from HP, Dell, Apple, Tyan, and Sun; All AMD and Intel multi-core. Hypervisors supported: VMWare, Citrix XenServer, Xen core, KVM, and Hyper-V.

SAN

15TB Compellent iSCSI and FC-based SAN, progressive from 10K thru 15Krpm to SSD drives

Workstations

• Dell, HP, Compaq and Apple hardware in various configurations

Networking

• 100mbps 5-peer backbone core through 1/10GB Layer 2/3 switches, along with several GB Layer 2/3 switches

Analyzers

• Fluke and self-made traffic analyzers
