APPLE IPHONEYS: The iPhone 5 edition
Thankfully, a couple of iPhone 5 videos have slipped out just before the window closes, one a tad more realistic than the other.
The first surfaced on YouTube via a Chinese website and purports to show a white iPhone 5, aside an older model, booting up.
Hate to ruin the dramatic conclusion of this hands-on video, but it ends with an error message. The video has been viewed more than 1.1 million times, giving some sense of how much anticipation there is for the product (though many viewing the video questioned its authenticity).
The other new video, by a design firm called Aatma Studio, dreams up some possible features including a Siri notification center, fingerprint scanning and ta-da, the ability to “rubberband” from an iPhone 5 format to an iPad Mini to a full-blown iPad! Somehow, it seems unlikely Apple's going to discourage fans from acquiring multiple devices.
Still, with even some capabilities like that, Apple just might beat the high expectations of Wall St. analysts like Gene Munster of Piper Jaffray, who predicts that Apple could sell 6 to 10 million of the gadgets this month even if they don’t ship until Sept. 21)
