Apple's free 12 Days of Christmas giveaway continues with Sonic The Hedgehog and the game Sonic Jump, available free for 24 hours.

Apple's free 12 Days of Christmas giveaway continues with Sonic The Hedgehog and the game Sonic Jump for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad.

"The original platform jumper is back as Sonic leaps up an all new vertically challenging adventure in stunning HD graphics!," notes SEGA. "Play as Sonic or his friends leaping through familiar and new Sonic worlds to battle Dr. Eggman, as you tilt and tap your way through fixed Story levels and Arcade infinite modes."

The game has been well reviewed with Digital Spy noting: "The story mode and missions are the real draw giving you a never-ending supply of reasons to keep jumping for the top."

Gamers can play in story mode, arcade mode, while 'Top In App Purchases' include vary from 69p to a whopping APS10.49.

Sonic Jump is compatible with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPod touch (3rd generation), iPod touch (4th generation), iPod touch (5th generation) and iPad. Requires iOS 4.3 or later, while the app is optimised for iPhone 5 adds Apple.

The 12 Days of Christmas promotion runs until 6 January - with each gift only available for 24 hours.

You can download each via your iDevice or your computer and Apple notes: "To access these gifts, the Region Format setting on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch needs to match your iTunes Store account."
