More images have been leaked online showing what appears to be Samsung's latest tablet device, the Galaxy Note 8.
Expected to be unveiled at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) trade show in Barcelona late next month, the image leak is the second of its kind following Samsung's confirmation that the company will launch an 8in tablet at MWC 2013.
Last week, South Korean news outlet iNews24 published comments from Samsung's global head of mobile communications, JK Shin, confirming the company will launch the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 late next month in Barcelona.
A few days later, a first image of the device was leaked on Twitter via the user @ClasificateArg, though the account has since been deleted. The image appeared to be a catalogue listing of the Galaxy Note 8, showing images of the back and front of the tablet and listing its key specifications.
Yesterday, Italian publication DDay added to the intrigue by publishing a set of images which appear to match the initial leaked photo. The images were published under the headline, "Exclusive: Is this the new Samsung Galaxy Note 8?"
The images appear to show a tablet device that has a similar design to the Samsung's Galaxy S III and Galaxy Note II smartphones. The tablet shown in the photos has rounded corners and a thicker bezel than the Apple iPad mini, most likely an attempt to distinguish it from that device.
Below the screen is a physical home button, flanked by a back button on the left and a multitasking button on the right. The rear camera doesn't appear to have a flash, while the S-Pen seems to be integrated into the bottom right of the rear casing, the opposite side to its location on the Galaxy Note II.
The Galaxy Note 8 is expected to have an 8in screen with a resolution of 1280x800, a 1.6GHz quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM and either 16GB or 32GB of storage, depending on model variant. The device is expected to ship with the latest version of Google's Android operating system, 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It will also have a 5-megapixel rear camera, a front-facing 1.3-megapixel front camera and a 4600mAh battery.
