Yahoo's Mayer dons purple wig & exclamation mark to celebrate

Ex-Google exec looks to keep momentum going at Yahoo

Marissa Mayer, Yahoo's CEO, celebrated the company's 92% completion rate on a worldwide employee survey by dressing for the day last Friday in a purple wig and Yahoo logo costume (or apparently, it is referred to as the Y! Bang). The company posted photos on its Facebook page (seen here) and Mayer's Flickr page (Yahoo owns that photo sharing site).

Yahoo is the purplest tech company this side of Extreme Networks, which also boasts purple passion, even making some of its switches purple.

Yahoo has had other things to celebrate as well of late, including decent third quarter results reported in October for Mayer's first quarter on the job as CEO (earnings rose 66% from the previous year's quarter and revenue was roughly flat). The company's stock price has also risen from around $15 a share when Mayer too over to $19+.

Mayer was among a few techie candidates for Time's Person of the Year, though Barack Obama won the honor.
