A memorial service for Aaron Swartz, the young Internet innovator who died last week while awaiting federal hacking-related charges, will be marked by the appearances of many well known within technology circles.
According to an announcement of the memorial, Damian Kush from the band OK Go (best known for its geeky viral videos), will be the event's musical guest. Speakers will include Swartz's partner, Taren Stinebrickner-Kauffman, Demand Progress' David Segal, The Cluetrain Manifesto co-author Doc Searls and data visualization guru Edward Tufte, among others.
Friends and family are invited to gather for the public memorial service to be held at Cooper Union's Great hall in NYC on Saturday, Jan. 19, at 4pm.
