GoDaddy, the sometimes controversial Web domain registrar and web hosting company, has taken an early lead in the Super Bowl XLVII commercial race, floating its first ad onto the web.
In a twist, the ad is far less racy than GoDaddy's usual fare, actually focusing this time on what the company's business is. The characters in the ad are all coming up with the same idea, figuring no one else in the world will, and are slacking on snapping up the domain or domains -- except for one smart and suddenly wealthy guy! And yes, race car driver Danica Patrick makes a cameo.
Super Bowl advertisers increasingly in recent years have leaked their special messages out onto YouTube in advance of the big game, giving non-football fans (and non Ravens/49ers fans....says the crestfallen Patriots fan) even less reason to watch the big game on Feb. 3.
