Today we’ll highlight partnership deals that have been announced this week: NextPlane and Siemens Enterprise Communications will work together to extend UC federation services, while Zoom Video Communications has unveiled a “Works with Zoom” program that includes a dozen partners.
Siemens Enterprise Communications and NextPlane have announced that the NextPlane UC Exchange service will provide extended federation services for Siemens Enterprise Communications’ OpenScape UC platform. Siemens Enterprise Communications customers who join NextPlane’s UC Exchange will be able to connect to range of other UC platforms, including those offered by Microsoft, Cisco, IBM, Google, Open-Fire, Isode, eZuce, and eJabberd.
According to a 2012 global study titled “State of Enterprise Communications” sponsored by Siemens Enterprise Communications, 80% of user end-points are now outside of corporate headquarters, highlighting the need to support distributed and mobile workforces.
Commenting in a statement on the partnership in a statement, Founder and CEO of NextPlane, Farzin Shahidi said, “We’re delighted to partner with Siemens Enterprise Communications. Their decision to select NextPlane’s UC Exchange federation service reflects their commitment to providing inter-enterprise communication solutions to their customers. It also demonstrates their commitment to openness for the benefit of their customers.”
In other news, Zoom Video Communications unveiled the “Works with Zoom” program, designed to combine Zoom’s cloud-based HD video conferencing service with products from a dozen technology companies across the audio, visual and robotics industries.
Companies participating in “Works with Zoom” include: Logitech, Vaddio, InFocus, Altia Systems, Revolve Robotics partners KUBI, VTEL, VDO360, HoverCam, Biscotti, Inc., AVer, Acoustic Magic, and Personify.
“We are excited to partner with these cutting-edge companies and bring over 75 percent savings in video collaboration to all businesses,” said Zoom Eric Yuan, commenting in a statement. He added, “We are also introducing programs to drive new business for reseller and referral partners.”
