Digg founder Kevin Rose tosses attacking Racoon down a flight of stairs

Digg founder and overall Internet celebrity Kevin Rose made news this week after video footage emerged showing Rose rescuing his dog from an attacking racoon

Digg founder and current Google Ventures partner Kevin Rose recently got himself into a little bit of hot water following the release of video footage depecting Rose tossing a racoon down a flight of stairs.

Now, before you become indignant and look up the number for PETA, there's a context to the story worth mentioning before showing the video. The story is that a racoon was violently attacking Rose's dog in a stairwell. Rushing to his dog's defense, Rose picked up the racoon and got rid of it as quickly as possible by throwing it down the stairs.

Rose himself posted the following video, which has since garnered over 6.5 million views. The video begins with a disclaimer stating that Rose does not encourage animal violence.

At 1:00am I heard my dog Toaster crying and yelping in pain. I discovered a raccoon attacking him.

I do not encourage enimal violence. I wanted to get the wild animal as far away from us as possible. Toaster is ok, but has some claw and bit marks.

Truth be told, racoons, though cute, are agressive and often don't need to feel threatened before attacking. It's hard to argue with Rose's actions here.

And now, without further adieu, the video in question.
