Mark your calendars, folks. According to report from All Things D this weekend, Apple will be holding a special media event on September 10 where the company will introduce its next-gen iPhone.

As for what's on tap, the rumor mill points to two separate phone releases.

First up, we have the iPhone 5S which will be Apple's flagship device. It will likely sport the same screen size as the iPhone 5 but will come with faster internals, an upgraded 12 megapixel camera, and last but not least, a fingerprint authorization sensor.

(5 years ago they said the iPhone would flop. Now?)

Second, there have been a bevy of rumors surrounding a low cost iPhone Apple has had in the works. The low cost iPhone, which may be called the iPhone 5C, will come in a variety of colors and will sport an 8 megapixel camera.

Just last week, alleged photos of Apple's lower cost iPhone made the rounds.

And gracing the screens of both of these models will be iOS 7, Apple's most recent iteration of its mobile operating system. iOS 7 introduces a host of new changes and it'll be interesting to see how the masses react.
