AGT's Mobile Video Apps, Broadsoft's UK Expansion, and IntelePeer's Security Upgrades

More UC portfolio enhancements in the news today: AGT has upgraded its mobile video app, IntelePeer has added new security and provisioning features, and BroadSoft has expanded its BroadCloud offer to the UK via an acquisition. AGT has introduced its next generation of EncoreB2B, a mobile application that connects a wide variety of video-enabled mobile devices with HD video conferencing systems, web browsers and unified communications clients. Todd Jacobson, vice president of product development at AGT, commented in a statement saying "We are continually focused on delivering a mobile video solution that delivers a high-quality, hassle-free video connection across multiple devices and networks." EncoreB2B was originally released in 2011 as a mobile app to connect to existing video system, the app is compatible with iOS and Android devices. Key enhancements of the new version include a redesigned user interface, multitasking capabilities so users can multitask on the device with audio connectivity, meeting history and controls, adjustable video and content placement, video mute, and guest access. The EncoreB2B mobile video app is part of AGT's Video as-a-Service partner program-- offering service providers white-labeled managed and cloud video conferencing services. AGT will be demonstrating the new mobile app at IT Expo 2013 being held later this month in Las Vegas. In other news, IntelePeer has announced expanded security options for its CoreCloud UC SIP Trunking service, along with enhancements supporting SIP trunking implementations. The company's integrated TLS and SRTP encryption protects signaling and multimedia content, providing an enhanced security option designed to reduce the need dedicated data access, IntelePeer's new SIP trunking redundancy option automates the provisioning process, offering streamlined deployment of backup SIP new failover option enhances the quality and reliability of the SIP trunking connection. In addition to the security and redundancy options, several enhanced features are newly available. Margaret Norton, chief marketing officer at IntelePeer said in a statement that "Ensuring the security and reliability of their communications is vital for our customers, who have embraced our encrypted SIP trunking services." She added, "By automating the process for backup SIP trunking connections, we've made it easy and cost-effective to deploy redundant, secure cloud-based communications. This ensures that communications connections are fully available, providing additional levels of geographic redundancy for disaster preparedness." And in our third story, BroadSoft announced it is extending its BroadCloud PBX service to the U.K. with the acquisition of Hosted IP Communications (Europe) Limited (HIPCOM). HIPCOM currently provides UC services based on BroadSoft's BroadWorks platform, and the majority of HIPCOM's employees will join BroadSoft as part of its growing European team focused on managing its European cloud operations. Michael Tessler, president and chief executive officer, BroadSoft said is a statement, "Our service provider customers are seeking faster ways to deliver Unified Communications solutions to their users, driven by the significant growth in the demand by enterprises." BroadSoft CTO Scott Hoffpauir added, "With the addition of HIPCOM and their experienced management team, we are confident we have the depth of knowledge in place to quickly take full advantage of our growth opportunities for BroadCloud PBX throughout Europe."
