Product Updates from AGT, 8x8

AGT Enhances video platform; 8x8 expands mobility options

Applied Global Technologies (AGT) has unveiled the latest release of EncoreB2B, a Video-as-a-Service (VaaS) platform.  The latest release showcases a new desktop software client, redesigned user interfaces (UI) with cross platform commonality, email dialing, and HD video and content collaboration on personal computers. AGT’s VaaS partner program allows service providers to add unique managed and cloud video conferencing services with full branding and minimal initial provisioning time. AGT manages the entire application development process for service providers that want to sell a service with their brand identity.

The e-mail and dialing enhancements are designed to simplify connection options so users can join meetings by simply entering an email address or using a directory lookup service.  Other upgrades now enable high-quality video and content sharing with high resolution support added for desktop video (720p) and content (720p and H.264) with automatic balancing.

Commenting is a statement, Ben Atha, CEO of AGT said, “Not only is EncoreB2B accessible across all major platforms and devices, the solution strengthens customer brand value with white-labeling functionality.  From top to bottom, this release supports our commitment to delivering turnkey video conferencing as a service, from branding and cross platform commonality to the assurance of high-quality video conferencing without the traditional cost and complexity of buying hardware.”

In other product update news, 8x8 has announced a new version of its Virtual Office mobile PBX business phone solution for Android smartphones and tablets, featuring added unified communications capabilities including video calling over 4G and Wi-Fi.  The Virtual Office Unified Communications as a Service (UCaaS) suite was previously available for iPhone and iPad users.  The latest version, Virtual Office Mobile 4.0, adds visual voicemail, IM/presence and fax management.

Other features include the ability to: conduct voice, video, and conference calls over 4G and Wi-Fi; park a call and pick it up on another business phone; have outbound calls appear with an office number caller ID.
