Activision sells $1Bn worth of "Call of Duty: Ghosts" in 24 hours

Beats record set by Grand Theft Auto 5 by a factor of three

The scale of the computer game industry never fails to amaze. Santa Monica, California-based Activision, one of the world's biggest games publisher for 30 years, just announced that their much anticipated Call of Duty: Ghosts for Xbox, Playstation, PC, and WII released yesterday, November 5, has grossed a staggering $1 billion in sales in the last 24 hours!

This performance beats the previous first day game sales record set by Grand Theft Auto 5, published by Rockstar Games, in September which took three days to reach $1 billion.

At this rate the next big name game to achieve sales of $1 billion will take just 8 hours.
