InterCall recently announced it has integrated Blue Jeans Network video with InterCall Reservationless-Plus® audio conferencing. With more than 400,000 access ports, InterCall has one of the largest proprietary IP-based global conferencing platforms in use today.
The integrated InterCall and Blue Jeans service supports up to 175 people using a mix of audio and video to participate in a single conference. The integrated service features: video and audio meeting scheduling with one tool, one meeting invitation and multiple ways to join, in-meeting controls, and high-quality voice for both audio-only and video attendees.
Commenting on the integration in a statement, Rob Bellmar, Senior Vice President of Conferencing and Collaboration for InterCall said, “People are interested in using video to improve collaboration, and they want a simpler way to connect.” He added,
“...participants can easily click-to-join from anywhere on any device, and experience the high quality audio and video conferencing that they expect.”
Krish Ramakrishnan, CEO of Blue Jeans Network, added, “Our company is fulfilling the appetite for face-to-face communication by delivering an easy-to-use, scalable solution. The combination of Blue Jeans Network’s rapid growth in the video conferencing market along with InterCall’s global presence and strength in the audio conferencing industry is creating an unstoppable force.”
A recent survey by Blue Jeans Network of 383 business decision makers backs up the importance of visual interactions. According to the survey
- Over half of respondents have misread tone or message via email or phone (60%). For 40%, it’s not a problem.
- Nearly three quarters (71%) of respondents said they believe they lost a deal due to the lack of face-to-face interaction.
- If an in-person meeting is not possible, more than half (54%) of respondents say that video conferencing is the next best thing.
