Expanded UC Portfolios, Contact Center Features Highlighted

With literally dozens of announcement coming out of this week’s Enterprise Connect 2014 conference, today we’ll hit a few of the week’s highlights with news from Dimension Data, Vidyo, and 8x8.

Dimension Data announced that it is extending its portfolio of cloud-based Unified Communications (UC) services to include Cisco Hosted Collaboration Solution (HCS). Dimension Data intends to use its expertise in UC and cloud to help enterprises to realize the full benefits of the cloud.  The company will use its systems integration expertise in tandem with its enterprise-class public cloud infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) and managed private cloud platform.

Dimension Data will deliver its Cisco HCS-based services globally multiple consumption models to support both dedicated and multi-tenant, usage-based environments. The latest addition to the company’s cloud service is intended to complement its existing UC services for voice, video, and contact center. The HCS portfolio will be available later in 2014.

In other news, Vidyo announced the VidyoWorks™ Contact Center Reference Design, a developer resource kit that offers customizable client and agent contact center Web apps which work with the VidyoWorks APIs to create video contact center experiences. This reference design is intended to help develop scalable, multi-party-capable, video-enabled contact centers without requiring deep video communication expertise.

At the conference, Vidyo also demonstrated 4K video with UHD content using  software based VidyoRoom™ HD40 group solution integrated with the Logitech CC3000e PTZ camera and enterprise audio for less than $2,900. Vidyo’s in-browser capabilities were also featured ad the WebRTC Pavilion at Enterprise Connect.

And in a separate announcement, 8x8 said it had achieved another milestone in its Global Reach initiative with the launch of its services platform in Hong Kong, extending its services into the Asia Pacific region. The company also revealed it has partnered with Teleopti to deliver Workforce Management (WFM) software for contact centers that include Virtual Contact Center and Workforce Management solutions.
