A Yahoo mixup on an obituary photo for Nate Dogg, a musician best known for his collaborations with hip-hop stars such as Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg, has fueled a massive outpouring of criticism about the search site on Twitter and elsewhere on the web.
Yahoo mistakenly ran a photo of rapper Warren G atop the obit for Nate Dogg, who died today at the age of 41 following two strokes in recent years. Nate Dogg's real name was Nathaniel D. Hale and he was known as the voice of G-Funk.
The Yahoo error led to an onslaught of tweets, including some that suggested Yahoo should have Googled the image of Nate Dogg instead of using Yahoo Image Search. Tweeter @shanselman wrote: "You can't trust the news. Yahoo FAIL." Others used less family friendly wording.
From one Dogg to another, RIP Nate Dogg.
