Cisco has joined the iPad frenzy by unveiling a WebEx application for the new Apple WiFi-enabled netbook. The WebEx Meeting Center for the Apple iPad is a free business application that allows users to participate in online meetings from their iPad with "a few simple taps on the screen," Cisco says.
The WebEx application is available now and can be downloaded from the Apple App Store. The meeting can be joined by tapping the URL in the email or calendar meeting invitation. From there, participants can view shared presentations, applications and desktops. It also allows users to view the meeting participant list, see who's talking, and chat privately or with all attendees using the chat window on the screen - just like the WebEx experience available from a desktop or laptop computer.
Users can listen to presenters via the Cisco WebEx VoIP audio directly from the iPad, or request a call-back on a phone for audio conferencing with data sharing, Cisco says.
Cisco last year also unveiled a free WebEx application for the Apple iPhone.
