It's not here, but it's everywhere

The excitement over what looks to be the upcoming release of the LG Nexus 5 has ramped up considerably over the past few weeks, with new leaks of specs and photos coming seemingly every couple of days. With rumors beginning to center on October 15 as the official rollout date for both the Nexus 5 and Android 4.4 KitKat – the device's likely operating system – here's a few glimpses at what the next Nexus phone might look like.

Google lets it slip

A promotional video for Android 4.4 KitKat (since made private by Google, so sorry about the lack of a link) started a wave of speculation when eagle-eyed Android watchers spotted this guy's unfamiliar device and drew their own conclusions.

The FCC leaks

Mobile news site PhoneScoop.com happened to notice several pictures of what may be the Nexus 5 on the Federal Communications Commission's website (which is currently out of, hah, commission thanks to the government shutdown). This one's missing the Nexus branding, but the body looks quite similar.

9to5Google got ahold of actual video of a purported Nexus 5, at what sounds like a pretty hip place. There's loud music, anyway. And alcohol consumption. That's hip, right?
