Aruba Wireless Networks (Aruba) markets and manufactures next generation, enterprise-class wireless LAN switching systems with a primary focus on centralized multi-layered security.

Aruba's Wi-Fi switching systems are comprised of thin, dual-purpose 802.11a+b/g APs that also function as RF monitors along with stackable and modular Wi-Fi switches for data center, regional office and branch office environments.  Aruba's centralized Wi-Fi systems give administrators industrial-strength security to protect all aspects of the wireless environment. This includes physical layer RF security, 802.1X with strong link layer encryption, integrated VPN support and a stateful firewall that allows policies to be defined for individual users or user groups as they roam.

Aruba Wi-Fi switches are the only to combine RF security, encryption, L2/L3 VPNs, wireless IDS and user-aware firewalling - all within a single, scalable system.  Aruba's system touts the industry's highest performance.  A single system supports up to 4 Gbps of encrypted throughput, 4000 concurrent users and 256 APs. Unique flow classification technology lets administrators identify and prioritize different traffic types, such as voice, to ensure optimal user performance.

Aruba's Wi-Fi switches control the power and channel settings of Aruba APs enabling advanced features such as auto-provisioning, dynamic load balancing, bandwidth contracts, and self-healing around failures. Aruba APs can be deployed anywhere within the enterprise IP network without being directly connected.  All third-party APs are also supported. Multiple SSIDs are supported on a single AP along with the ability to map multiple VLANs to a single SSID.

Headquartered in San Jose, California, Aruba is privately held and funded by Sequoia Capital, Matrix Partners and Trinity Ventures. The Company is led by Mr. Don LeBeau, president and CEO, and the former senior vice president of Worldwide Sales and Operations for Cisco Systems.
