Buffalo's portable HD encrypts all data

Buffalo MiniStation DriveVault encrypts everything on the drive

The latest version of Buffalo Technology's MiniStation portable hard drive is the DataVault model. The 8-oz. hard drive includes hardware-based full disk encryption (128-bit AES support) that automatically encrypts all data saved to the drive, and capacities of either 160GB ($129) or 320GB ($209). Other features include a rugged exterior with a shock absorbing inner structure that holds the drive, protecting it from drops and hits; a wrap-around USB cable that also powers the dervice; and Buffalo's TurboUSB technology that aims to increase the speeds of file transfers. Memeo's AutoBackup software is bundled on the device, and it comes pre-formatted for users to just enter their password right from the start. The drive is Windows and Mac OS X compatible, and includes mobile versions of the Firefox Web browser and Thunderbird e-mail client.
