Top universities for micro and nanotechnology

The top-scoring university in Small Times Magazine’s second annual survey of universities for micro and nanotechnologies is University at Albany – SUNY.

Small Times analyzed responses from several universities to determine their ranking in five categories: research, education, facilities, industrial outreach and commercialization.

According to the magazine, Albany’s College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering (CNSE) offers 60-plus courses to earn master's degrees and doctorates with concentrations in areas such as nanomaterials and modeling. It also offers a Nano+MBA program, which marries science and engineering with business school education.

Other institutions in the magazine’s list include Cornell University, University of Michigan, Rice University and University of Pennsylvania.
