Storage vendor sends “hangover” kit, expects VMWorld to be one big party

I’m ready for anything at VMWorld now

Storage vendor X-IO is either looking to butter up journalists covering VMWorld, or they expect the conference to just be one big party. Or maybe a little bit of both.

Days before the show kicks off Cloud Chronicles got a FedEx shipment from X-IO with a “hangover kit.”

Hangover kit supplied by VMWorld vendor X-IO

It includes:

-A Sugar-free Red Bull

-Travel size Advil

-Travel size “Physician Care” antacid

-Eye drops

What is Sqwincher, you ask? It’s a no-caffeine, low sodium, non-carbonated lemon-lime concentrate, according to the label; it’s “a great tasting, scientifically formulated electrolyte replacement drink designed to rehydrate, restore and recharge.”

Just what am I getting myself into by going to VMWorld?
