MegaPath launched its Unified Communications service this week, integrating its existing IP voice telephony portfolio with enhanced collaboration features, such as screen sharing, presence, instant messaging, SMS text messaging, and videoconferencing.
Unified Communications is available as an add-on to MegaPath’s Hosted Voice service. The combined offer includes traditional telephony features, plus value added services such as voicemail transcribed as email, call recording, conferencing, and support for mobility -- as well as the new Unified Communications capabilities.
Commenting in a statement on the latest upgrade to UC, MegaPath President Dan Foster said, “MegaPath’s Unified Communications solution allows employees to easily and instantly connect and collaborate in a variety of ways from any device using their business VoIP number, regardless of whether they’re in the office or working remotely.”
Diane Myers, Principal Analyst for VoIP, UC and IMS at Infonetics Research added, “The VoIP services market is expected to see continued strong growth worldwide, reaching $88 billion by 2018. MegaPath is positioning itself well within the market with the launch of its Unified Communications offering.”
In a separate announcement, MegaPath announced a new deployment option for its Hosted Voice solution. Customers purchasing MegaPath’s Hosted Voice “over-the-top” (over an Internet connection not provided by MegaPath) can opt to perform a Self-Installation. The installation service is backed by a 7-Day service level agreement (SLA) that provides service credits up to 50% off the first month’s recurring cost for the affected service.
MegaPath Hosted Voice is offered in two ways: either MegaPath provides the voice service “over-the-top” of a customer’s existing third-party broadband connection, or MegaPath includes a fully-integrated and managed voice and broadband solution. MegaPath’s Business VoIP calling plans start at $19.99 for local calling plans or $24.95 for national plans.
