With less than 14 hours left to go before Apple's "historic" series of announcements tomorrow, here are a few late-breaking rumors regarding Apple's iPhone 6.

First up, let's talk release date. According to the French-language site iGen.fr, both the 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch iPhone models will go on sale on September 19. This certainly adds up as Apple always releases new iPhone models on Friday mornings and it would be completely out of character for them to wait more than two weeks to release newly unveiled models.

The only question mark here is if both iPhone models will be in stores come September 19. While iGen.fr certainly believes so, some other reports have indicated that the larger 5.5-inch iPhone might hit stores a little bit later on.

Second, let's talk specs and features. Cult of Mac purports to have obtained from a Chinese source a detailed spec list for the iPhone 6. Cult of Mac doesn't have the best track record, so certainly take this with a grain of salt. The information, nonetheless, is certainly intriguing.

According to the source, both iPhone models will feature a sapphire display. What's more, both iPhone models will reportedly be shatter-proof and water-resistant.

The shatter-proof rumor is intriguing, if only because so many folks damage their phones by dropping them and shattering the screen. While a sapphire iPhone display would certainly be essentially scratch-resistant, sapphire is more brittle than the Gorilla Glass made by Corning. Still, patents have emerged which suggest that Apple has been exploring ways to use sapphire as a coating over Gorilla Glass, perhaps getting the best structural elements from each material. The water resistant feature is also interesting, but one wonders how Apple might manage that without some type of clumsy cover a la Samsung.

Some other specs include:

Dimensions: 137.5 x 67 x 7 mm (5.41 x 2.64 x 0.28 in)
Weight: 113 g (3.99 oz)
TouchID: 500 dpi pixel density fingerprint sensor (Touch ID on all models)
Display: LED-backlit IPS LCD, capacitive touchscreen, 16M colors
Size: 960 x 1704 pixels, 4.70 inches / 5.5 inches (~416 ppi pixel density)

And for good measure, the available colors will reportedly be the same - the camera will remain at 8 megapixels, and a 128GB model will be available.
