If you happen to have someone on your Christmas list who insists upon using a desktop PC, when in fact they don’t need a powerful machine and don’t want a laptop, then maybe an HP Pavilion All-in-One (AIO) PC is the answer? It becomes an even more attractive option if they have an ancient machine still running Windows XP – even after you’ve warned them and cut off all 24/7 family-tech support! If that sounds like you, or you are in the market for an all-in-one PC, then here’s the HP Pavilion TouchSmart and non-touch-enabled versions available for Black Friday sales or available at Black Friday prices right now.
HP is currently selling Pavilion AIO PCs for prices comparable to Black Friday prices. There are three basic options that come with Windows 8 installed and a 23-inch screen. As the name implies, it’s a desktop computer that’s built all-in-one as opposed to a tower and separate monitor; it comes with a mouse and keyboard as well.

The screen is obviously larger but not touch-friendly; the rest of the specs are the same as 21-inch PC.
23” HP Pavilion AIO PC at Costco for $800
Costco is knocking $100 off the HP Pavilion touchscreen 23-p027c model, making it $799.99 for Black Friday sales. Why does it cost more? Faster processor, more memory and larger hard drive. It has an Intel i5-4570T processor (2.9GHz) with a 4MB shared cache, 8GB of DDR3 (1600MHz) SDRAM, and a 1TB 7200 RPM SATA hard drive.
Refurbished MacBook for $370 from Newegg
Last but certainly not least, for a completely different experience, Newegg has lost its mind and is currently selling refurbished MacBooks for $370 a pop. Model MC516LL/A is a 13.3-inch laptop with 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo P8600 processor running Mac OS X v10.6 Snow Leopard; keep in mind that the most current version of OS X is OS X 10.10 Yosemite. Put another way, “Apple delivered the final security update for Snow Leopard in September 2013.” Even with 2GB DDR3 RAM, a 250GB hard drive, NVIDIA GeForce 320M, and DVD±R/RW, it’s still a steal.
If you tell me one more time how your ancient desktop running XP that can’t be upgraded is just “fine,” and not to get you a computer for Christmas, then I’m sure Santa can swap out the new AIO for a stocking filled with reindeer pooh.
Love, your daughter
