More guns and ammo found

Guns and ammo continue to be the scourge of the TSA. Week after week of the agency’s own blog report on what its agents find on people looking to travel through the country’s airports are inundated with stories of loaded guns and ammunition. We won’t go into the ridiculous gun situation but will look at the weirder stuff the TSA has found folks traveling with, like meat slicers and Chihuahuas. Take a look (all entries are from the TSA Blog site).

That’s exactly what happened at #NewYork’s #LaGuardia (#LGA) Airport. While resolving a checked baggage alarm, an officer was shocked when he found a dog in the bag! Apparently, the dog climbed in while its owner was packing her suitcase. TSA worked with the airline to identify the owner, and the two were happily reunited.

Items found in 2015

Guns were the big-ticket item the U.S. Transportation Security Administration found the most of in on the traveling public 2014. Through mid December there were almost 2,200 guns discovered at TSA check-ins, up about 20% over 2013. Unless you live under a rock, trying to carry a gun onto airplane should be an obvious no-no. But guns aren’t the only things that grab the TSA’s attention. Lots of grenades, and bomb-like gear is also out there – a lot. Here’s a look at some of the things the TSA confiscated or otherwise questioned in 2014.
