International Business Times yesterday day published an essay carrying antivirus pioneer John McAfee’s byline. A colleague who actually read the piece describes it as “content-free.”

Who is John McAfee?

John McAfee remains one of the most influential commentators on cyber security anywhere in the world.

I laughed out loud, as I’m guessing some of you did just now. I am also assuming the author of those words – be it McAfee himself, some minion, or an IBT editor – was referring to some other world, perhaps one of the many conjured up by McAfee’s notoriously fevered imagination.

In the real world, John McAfee does not remain one the most influential commentators on anything … even John McAfee.
