Dell, Best Buy, Target and others hawking Android gadgets at deep discounts for Black Friday 2015

Product vendors and retailers are cranking up their 2015 Black Friday sales, and devices such as tablets and smartphones running Google’s Android operating system are among the highlights.

So, Apple fanboys and fangirls can check out what they’re missing out on, as can Windows fans, who it appears won’t have Android apps coming to their devices anytime soon. Meanwhile, Android supporters can look to build their collections.

Dell: Venue 10 5000 Series tablet

Dell is lopping $100 off the price of this Android tablet, with a $150 price set for Black Friday. This table features at 10.1-inch display, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage and comes with Android Lollipop. Stylus and attachable keyboard sold separately.

Groupon: ASUS Google Nexus 7 tablet

This 16GB tablet is powered by a 1.5GHz quad-core processor and can be had for $125 instead of the usual $200 during the holiday sale. A travel cover will be bundled in as well.

Best Buy: Galaxy Tab S2 Tablet

This newest model of Samsung’s Android tablet, with a 9.7-inch display and 32GB of storage, has been marked down to $400 from $500. Best Buy is selling the 8-inch model for $350, which amounts to a $50 savings.

Sears: Galaxy Tab S2 tablet

This 9.7-inch Samsung tablet, regularly priced at $500, will be on sale at Sears Thursday (Thanksgiving Day) through Saturday, for $400, plus members get $20 back in points.

Office Depot/OfficeMax: Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Lite Tablet

This 7-inch Android tablet, which has 8GB of internal storage plus a 16GB Sandisk memory card to boot, is being marked down from $140 to $80. Offers up to 8 hours of battery life. Stores open at 6pm on Thanksgiving Day, though deals are available all day online as well while supplies last.

Staples: Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Lite

This Android tablet features a 7-inch screen, 8GB of storage and is regularly priced at $140. The Black Friday markdown lowers the price to $80.

Sears: Galaxy Tab 4 tablet

This 7-inch Android tablet will be available for the low, low price of $120, which is $60 off the usual price.

Kmart: Samsung Galaxy Tab 4

This 7-inch tablet, normally priced at $180, will be cut to $120,  plus Kmart Shop Your Way members get $20 back in points. The tablet comes with 8GB of memory and has a MicroSD slot to up memory by 32GB.

Target: Samsung Galaxy Tab 8

Target is dropping the price of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8, with 9.7-inch screen, to $230 from $300. Plus, you get a $30 Target gift card when you buy this Android device.

Wal-Mart: Samsung Galaxy S5 on StraightTalk Wireless

Buyers can reap a savings of $250, with a phone that features an Android 4.4 OS, 5.1” touchscreen, 4G LTE and 16MP/2.1MP rear/front cameras. Plus you get a free Bluetooth speaker worth $100. 

Kmart: Boost Mobile ZTE Speed phone

This pre-paid 8GB cellphone’s $100 price will be bumped down to $40 for Black Friday. Features a 4.5-inch screen and 5MP rear-facing camera.


Dollar General: ZTE Maven 4.5-inch phone

Dollar General is slicing $19 off the usual $39 price tag for this AT&T pre-paid Android smartphone with up to 32GB of expandable memory.

Target’s selling the no-contract AT&T GoPhone for $40, and is throwing in $45 of free airtime.

Target: Samsung Galaxy Note

The typically $200 32GB Android phablet can be had for a penny, though you do need to sign on for a 2-year plan with Verizon.
