It’s been a big year for the laptop/tablet combo device at MWC 2016. Spurred by the iPad Pro and Microsoft’s Surface and Surfacebook, there were competitors aplenty at this year’s show. Here are some of the highlights.

The Ubuntu edition of Spanish OEM BQ’s Aquaris M10 is a converged device, offering a unique Linux-powered tablet experience with the option to connect a mouse and keyboard for use in desktop mode. It’ll go on sale in the second quarter of 2016, although pricing info was not immediately released.

Huawei MateBook

Another business-focused device, Huawei’s MateBook is also a combination laptop and tablet that runs Windows 10. The MateBook, which starts at $700 for a version with entry-level hardware, packs a built-in stylus, and will go on sale in “the coming months.”

Panasonic FZ-N1 and FZ-F1 Toughpad

Although it’s smartphone-sized, Panasonic’s billing the new FZ Toughpad series as a “handheld tablet.” (The N1 model runs Android, the F1 uses Windows.) Like the company’s well-known Toughbook series of laptops, the Toughpad has middling specs but is heavily ruggedized, able to survive dust and dirt, numerous drops and even full submersion in water. It’ll set you back a hefty $1,500 when it goes on sale next month, however.

ZTE Spro Plus

It’s a heavy-duty, 8.4-inch, 1080p Android tablet with a projector built in, to put it bluntly. It uses lasers instead of LEDs for a sharply projected image, and packs a 12100mAH battery to run its energy-hungry hardware. The Spro Plus will be out sometime this summer, although no pricing information was released.

Lenovo Tab3 10 for Business

One of numerous Lenovo gizmos that was announced at MWC 2016, the Tab3 10 for Business is built to function well with Android for Work, boasts fairly rugged construction, and is cheaper at a starting price of $200, according to PCWorld’s Melissa Riofrio.

Another all-in-one tablet and laptop combo, the Alcatel Plus 10 is a compact machine that takes the unusual step of packing a 4G/LTE radio into the keyboard dock, rather than the tablet itself. (There’s even an additional battery in there to help carry the load.) It’s coming to Europe, Latin America, the Middle East and Asia in June of this year, but no U.S. availability was announced. It’ll cost about $385.

Lenovo Ideapad MIIX 310

This Atom-powered hybrid is ultra-portable, provides a purported 10 hours of battery life, and generally offers a cheap option for the customer looking for a laptop/tablet that still runs the full version of Windows 10.
