Yeah, yeah, Google's really early preview of Android N boasts multi-window features, direct reply notifications and new battery-saving capabilities. But what we really want to know is, what cutesy nickname is Google going to give to the Android N mobile operating system?
Following in a long line of Marshmallow, Lollipop, KitKat and other food names, Android N most likely will be dubbed something like Nutella, though Google CEO Sundar Pichai has hinted that an Indian delight could be in the offing.
Internally, Google is said to be calling Android N "New York Cheesecake," but the company has a history of calling its new Android editions something different than the formal, public nickname for those iterations.
The Android Police blog reports that a Google Opinion Rewards poll is floating around that invites users of that Android app to name "What tasty food comes to mind that starts with the letter 'N'" and also to pick a favorite tasty treat from a list of foods whose names start with the letter N, from Nachos to Nougat to Neapolitan ice cream. As Android Police notes, however, not all Google Opinion Rewards polls come from Google, so it's possible some third-party is asking these questions for some reason...
Meanwhile, keeping in the spirit of guessing Android N's nickname, the AndroidCentral blog has launched a contest to solicit Android N guesses from its readers, and the winner will get a Pixel C tablet.
