Online retailers Amazon.com and Newegg are getting a jump on Black Friday 2016 with a slew of tech deals, including from Amazon some big cuts on its Echo, Kindles and tablets.
Amazon really wants you to buy its own stuff
Amazon has already begun its Black Friday countdown and is attempting to lure shoppers via Lightning deals that can last for only a few hours, until items being offered at cut-rate prices are gone.
The company is pushing its own products early, and has said that starting on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 24, and ending on Black Friday, Nov. 25, it will be offering the following deals:
*Amazon Echo voice-controlled device for $140, which is $40 off the usual price.
*The companion Echo Dot (shown here) will cost $40, which is $10 off (you can also save buy buying these in larger quantities).
*Fire TV Stick with Alexa Voice Remote will be $30 ($10 off)
*Fire HD 8-inch tablet will be $60 ($30 off)
*Also, starting Nov. 20, you can get an Amazon Kindle Paperwhite model for $100, which is $20 off the usual price.
Newegg: Hardware for hardcore gamers and more
Newegg has slashed prices on a slew of gaming and work PCs and laptops, as well as other computer components, storage and accessories. But it's not just about computers: wireless routers, TVs and audio equipment bargains can be had.
Among the Newegg Black Friday deals, most of which run 11/21 through 11/26, are:
*HP ProLiant ML 10 v2 Tower Server This system is marked down from $250 to $175. Features an Intel i3-4150 3.5 GHz processor, 8GB of RAM of 500GB SATA.
*Acer 15.6-inch gaming laptop Boasts an Intel Core i5 6200U (2.30GHz) processor, 8GB of RAM, 128 GB SSD and 1TB HDD. It runs Windows 10.
*Google Chromecast The easy-to-use streaming media player (2nd generation) is being offered for $25, which is $10. Stocking stuffer?
*Toshiba 3TB Canvio Basics Portable Hard Drive. This USB 3.0 model can be had for $90, which is $50 off. That's a lotta storage for under $100.
