Directories

Network World, 11/13/00

The award in this category goes to iPlanet's Directory Server. Test Alliance member Joel Snyder's tests showed Directory Server to be the best-performing Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) server when lined up against competing products from Critical Path, Innosoft, Novell and Oracle. Directory Server earned a perfect 10 performance score as it outpaced the competition in three types of LDAP-based query functions. Snyder also deemed its LDAP-specific management features to be the best of the lot and gave Directory Server an overall score of 8.55.
