Review:
The Axis 207 Network Camera features an amazingly clear picture with its MPEG-4 quality image. At a 30 frames/second rate, the image was clear and not choppy. Unlike a typical surveillance camera image, the picture looked like TV broadcast quality.
The Axis 207 was surprisingly easy to set up, we just needed to plug the camera into the network and use the supplied software to obtain an IP address. Once a password was set, we could view the image from anywhere with a Web browser.
We would have preferred a wireless connection (Axis does make the 207w model, which is wireless) and a pan, tilt and zoom feature so it could give us a larger view. However, the high image quality makes up for the lack of these features, so if you're looking for a clear picture you can't go wrong with this model.
This camera would have been better if it featured wireless features and a robotics so it could rotate and give us a larger view. The image quality is the one feature that makes this camera stand out from other network cameras.
