Meet the Server Sleuths

Fitzgerald photoJoseph Fitzgerald, CTO and Director of Product Development of HP Orchestration, formerly Novadigm, along with Albion Fitzgerald, co-authored the patent underlying its adaptive management technology. Before joining Novadigm, he served as director of product development at Pansophic Systems and its predecessor company ASI/Telemetrix, where he engineered large-scale, high performance networking software that is used in mission-critical applications by Fortune 500 companies worldwide. He has a solid background in systems management, specifically in the areas of security, networking and operating systems.

Vijay Manwani is a co-founder and the Chief Technology Officer of BladeLogic, a developer of data center automation software. Manwani is responsible for BladeLogic's overall product strategy and direction. Previously, he led all phases of the company's development efforts which resulted in BladeLogic's current product leadership position. Before BladeLogic, Manwani was an entrepreneur-in-residence at Battery Ventures where he spent the bulk of his time working to launch BladeLogic. Earlier, he was the CTO at Breakaway Solutions where he was responsible for all technology initiatives in the ASP and eBusiness lines of businesses. Prior to Breakaway, Manwani was the CTO and co-founder of Eggrock Partners, an ASP/eBusiness-consulting firm that was acquired by Breakaway Solutions.

Nielsen photoPoul Nielsen is vice president, marketing and product strategy for Altiris. He has more than 20 years of experience in software development and systems management including executive management positions with Computer Associates and Computing Edge (since acquired by Altiris) as the president and COO. Under Poul's direction, web-based PC management technology from Computing Edge has been integrated as the platform for Altiris solutions available today and provides value to IT managers through extending and enhancing Microsoft SMS environments. Poul is responsible for Altiris product marketing, corporate marketing and customer services.
