Supporting the mobile workforce brings with it a new challenge. You need to ask yourself how you can train that workforce and otherwise support collaborate among them. That leads to another question, how can you do all that with a minimal amount of configuration and complete platform independence? Wimba Classroom is a "virtual classroom" that features all the collaborative tools necessary to train your staff anywhere, anytime on any platform. Wimba seeks to make distance learning seem no different than being in the physical classroom. The tool comes with multiple rooms and supports a massive amount of different content including PowerPoint, HTML, Flash, movie clips, images, etc. Participants in a Wimba Classroom start off with a general session and can then create breakout rooms for specialized topics. Instructors can create downloadable MP3 files and conduct polls and perform analytics to make sure they are presenting the best possible information. If you need to create a full classroom and training environment to work across any major platform then you need to check out Wimba Classroom.

14 pages for a
14 pages for a article???????
exactly, why 14 pgs? b/c
exactly, why 14 pgs? b/c it's all about getting 14 hits for 1 crappy article. lame, networkworld, lame.
Tremendous Time Saver
Thanks for this list Ron.
With all of the different tools and products on the market it is so hard to keep up with all of them. I especially liked that they were broken into different pages so that I can refer directly to the tool on its own page. And hey... if that increases the number of hits you get... that's great.
I write for InfoWorld and just posted my weekly column on System Center tools: http://weblog.infoworld.com/enterprisewindows/archives/2008/10/system_center_m.html
With only time for Microsoft products (which are always changing, evolving, and so forth) I never have time to analyze newer, diverse products. This list gave me two tools I plan on researching further: Wimbas Classroom and PresenterNet. Excellent tools in my line of work.
Thanks again!

I found this article very helpful. As a business owner I rarely have time to do research on my own. The ability to go over 12 great products at once was a great relief for me. Who cares if it was 14 pages - it was neatly separated and easy for me to navigate through.

The resume - every application, that can be web based is moving to the web. Browsers already work on all OSes!
Why didn't you mention OpenOffice? Not everybody knows it works on different platforms.
