The United States must keep a keen eye on China if it intends to remain the world's leading cyberspace superpower, says Air Force Lt. Gen. Robert Elder, the man in charge of a new initiative designed to maintain U.S. supremacy.
As for China, Elder says: "They're the only nation that has been quite that blatant about saying, 'We're looking to do that.".
All of this country's enemies and competitors should be considered as harboring similar designs, Elder tells Reuters, with one possible exception: "Everyone but North Korea. We've concluded that there must be only one laptop in all of North Korea - and that guy's not allowed to scan" overseas networks.
Ouch. Here's hoping North Korea's nuclear capabilities have been overstated, too.
