Last week was a watershed moment for Apple. Record breaking earnings resulting from all-time quarterly sales of iPhones, Macs, and iPads. A hat trick of success, so to speak.

Following Apple's stunning earnings announcement, which again, completely blew away even the most bullish of Wall Street expectations, Tim Cook announced a new program at an Apple town hall meeting wherein Apple employees can now purchase iPads for $250 off and Macs for $500 off.

The new discounts will take effect in June and employees who have worked at least 90 days for Apple can take advantage of the cost savings. But lest you think Apple employees will be going on a spending spree, the aforementioned discounts will only be available to each employee once ever three years.

Traditionally, Apple employees have been eligible for 25% off of a new Mac purchase every year. That said, the $500 discount can be applied on top of that deal.

Lastly, all Apple employees - not just those who work in Cupertino - can take advantage of Apple's new employee discount.

And so Tim Cook continues to put his own stamp on Apple in the post Steve Jobs era.
