As BlackBerry service recovers, RIM apologizes

As for the long-term damage, here's what one user told me

By Paul McNamara on Thu, 10/13/11 - 11:33am.

Research in Motion executives are saying BlackBerry service is back to normal for most and getting there quickly for the balance of its customers.

They're also apologizing ... profusely. Here's RIM co-CEO Mike Lazaridis:

Yesterday as news that the outage had hit U.S. shores began to spread, I emailed a longtime BlackBerry user with whom I share a set of parents to see if his service was holding up in San Diego. He replied almost immediately, answering that question, but the comment he added said more than the fact he could send it to me:

"RIM is doomed."
