The Service Manager Sizing Helper Tool

Microsoft provides a tool to help you in sizing your System Center Service Manager deployment

By Kerrie Meyler on Mon, 09/05/11 - 6:27pm.

Provided as a downloadable utility, the Service Manager Sizing Helper tool can help to establish the number of Server Manager servers you need and assist with sizing your databases. Here are some of the things the tool can do:

  • Give you an idea of the type of hardware needed for different usage and deployment scenarios. This includes computer models, CPUs, hard drive space, and RAID level.
  • Provide topology diagrams for each scenario, which map the hardware to scenarios such as single server, 2 server, 4 server, and more than 4 servers.
  • Calculate free and used hard drive space needed for a scenario, based on your input. This calculation is an estimate.

The tool is a graphical utility that is part of the Service Manager Job Aids documentation set. You can download the Service Manager Sizing Helper Tool from http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=186291.
