In April, I'll be in Atlanta to speak at and participate in the first SHARE conference in the US. Share is the only conference I've seen that is exclusively designed to showcase how business users solve business problems with SharePoint - and so I'm particularly excited to be part of the first US version of this conference following successful events in South Africa and Australia.
I'll be participating in three different activities, all designed around the topic of SharePoint governance, one of the topics I'm pretty obsessed with. On the first day, Monday, April 23, the always entertaining Dux Raymond Sy is coordinating a series of breakout roundtables to kick off the conference on the following topics: Quantifying the Business Value of the Cloud, Ensuring Relevant Governance, Building Your Organizational Roadmap, and Delivering Effective Training and Adoption. I'll be facilitating the governance roundtable. The folks at the Eventful Group did an awesome job surveying the market with a series of focus groups and they've really organized this conference around the topics that business leaders care about. The jumpstart sessions on the afternoon of the arrival day provide a great way to connect both attendees and presenters so that the networking and dialog can begin even before the first day of the conference. I'm really excited about this opportunity to make new friends who I hope will show up for my presentation the next morning.
On Tuesday morning, I'll be speaking in a track that's all about governance. Other speakers in this track include Sarah Haase from Best Buy, Richard Harbridge from Allin, and Adam Quinn from Nielsen. On Tuesday afternoon, I'll participate as part of a "Real World SharePoint Governance" panel facilitated by Jeremy Thake of AvePoint.
Another key differentiator for this conference is the number of case study presentations - 12 out of 16 individual sessions are case studies. In some cases, the presenters are bringing along their consultants, but you will definitely get to hear the perspective of the businesses that are using SharePoint to solve real problems. One of the companies for whom I developed a governance plan will be there talking about how they are using SharePoint to facilitate their "next way to work" initiative and there are another 11 case study presenters who have amazing stories and solutions to share.
If you register by Friday, January 13, 2012, there is a $200 early bird discount - and you don't have to eat dinner at 4:30 pm to get it! Check out all the great presenters and events at Share 2012 and join me this April in Atlanta!
