I agree the numbers used are incorrect but I can tell you as a recent IBM employee there are a number of layoffs and the trend is getting any better (thus why I'm not an IBM'er any longer). In the last round of layoffs that I know about I am aware of 2 people that were 100% customer (green dollar in IBM terms) billable for the past 3 years and were rated extremely high all 3 years that were laid off. In past years (I worked for IBM for 12.5 years) this was never the case. They could always find slackers to cut and reach the numbers they needed.

IBM has cut so many positions in the last few years they are running out of these people. So the question is if they are cutting people that are directly resulting in revenue what's going to happen next.

I know several other people that have been told their job will be moved overseas within the next 18 months.

In typical IBM fashion they will not disclose anything but what is required of them and they will do it as quietly as possible.

I am very happy to no longer work for a company that completely disregards it's employees, especially the long term ones.
