Thanks for the link. Very interesting indeed.
Essentially, my first message was about agreeing with your comment, while not really understanding the connection to Woot.

But I must say that I completely share your opinion. Assuming that it could be produced, a fully-secure but closed system would not be very useful. Nowadays, systems are useful because they are connected, and the same connections that give value to our systems can be used to attack them. Therefore, instead of protecting connections, protecting information (and processes) should be the focus.

Also, as you mention, context-awareness and behavior-awareness are going to become more and more important because of the trend towards distributed computing and ultimately ubiquitous, pervasive and ambient intelligence computing.

In fact, just a few weeks ago I have submitted a proposal for an ERC project based on a similar idea: A framework for computing with protected information.
