Security is in your hands!

0

Hi, Antonio,

I've followed security trends over the years and it saddens me to see the cynical way the security industry continues to roll-out old technology (often at high cost) to address new, evolved problems. And yet the corporate world still accepts it, believing that because it costs a lot of money, it must be good.

The banks particularly are the villains here. They inflate customer costs to cover losses, rather than putting money into research (such as with you guys!) to properly deal with the problems. They also hide the extent of criminal losses to protect their stock price.

Ironically, application firewalls while more expensive per unit due to their processing requirements actually cost less per installation than perimeter firewalls located at every possible entry point. That's how the security industry makes it's money... and there you may have the reason why things haven't changed.

I truly believe that the only way out of this is to for guys like you to take the initiative to define and develop processes that show the way and expose the obsolete practices that pervade the corporate world.

Your motive for submitting your proposals is purely because you believe there to be a better and more effective way. The security industry's motive is to make money.

The very best of luck with your submitted proposal, if there's any justice in the world, someone will pick it up and run with it!
