Enforcement and Punishment vs. Another law
The one aspect of laws most pro-law people ignore is that of enforcement. We have over 20,000 laws limiting gun usage. Does that make us safe from crimials intent on using guns to commit crimes? No! The people that use the guns for crimes are frequently allowed to escape, are set free due to a 'legal technicality' (read: loop hole for lawyers), or are released after serving some small sentence by liberal judges.
Enforcement is a much better, although more difficult solution. Protect the boarders, screen inbound travellers, utilize profiling techniques to filter out suspects, and having judges punish illegals harshly would be a more effective means to the 'intended' result.
However, politicians are smarter than the rest of us hicks, and they know what is best. Just ask Nancy Pelosi, she'll tell you. (Make sure that you don't ask her hired help any questions, they can't speak English!)
