You should read the news....
Your bashing of IBM as a HW company is pretty pathetic considering that is less then a 3rd of their business now. As far as being 'old age' and 'out of touch', you wouldn't have RAID for your servers if IBM wasn't around (yes, they invented that and gave it away to make it the standard), you also wouldn't have LTO (yes, they lead that consortium to set a standard), and you wouldn't have the sleep, or hybernate, function in Windows (yes, they developed that for Microsoft).
