H1-B visas and displaced us workers

0

I read the article on H1-B visas and how US companies are taking US jobs and giving them to outsource companies. I was directly affected by this last year while working for Washington Mutual Bank. I was an enterprise architect in charge of developing an overseas conduit for foreign workers to use internal systems securely while doing internal job functions. After the system was in place and more than 3000 jobs were offloaded, management decided that now the work I was doing could be done cheaper by offshore workers, specifically TATA, Wipro, etc. I agree that something needs to be done. Not only are american jobs being sent overseas but WAMU's practice of offshoring loan processing information goes way overboard. They are putting sensitive personal information, i.e social security numbers, loan numbers, etc, in the hands of people who live in a country where less than 10% of identity theft is prosecuted.
