To me and many of those that read things like this, security and defense in depth are not about comparing the size of your routers, switches, and firewalls. It is actually about how they interact with the software and management you layer over top to give you the best chance at succeeding at an increasingly difficult mission in a rapidly evolving non-typical enterprise.
