Buy cisco and never get fired?
The end-to-end solution mantra is so much crap. Sure, you can mortgage the house and sell the children and fork-lift Cisco into your network and be reasonably assured of a secure environment. However, this doesn't eliminate the need for trained staffing, due diligence and effort. The best technology in the world is only so effective. The rest of the equation requires management oversight and basic principles: what is allowed (legitimate business processes) and what isn't (threats). Once these are defined putting the proper controls in-place can solve many of today's most vexing security issues. And at the end of the day you'll still have your house and children and won't be another Cisco' biatch.
